Introduction to Sailing - Annapolis, MD

"Separately only wind, water, sail, and hull, but at my hand purpose and direction."
-Lowell Thomas

Unlike conventional introduction to sailing courses which are typically taught on small Sunfish, Rainbow, or Flying Scot vessels, even our beginner students gain charter-relevant experience on a coastal cruising Laguna 30!

We went back to the drawing board to design our immersive sailing instruction course from the ground up. We started with foundations from popular introduction to sailing courses then added sorely missed essentials like basic navigation, instrumentation, systems, engine operations, and keel boat curriculum. Then, we cut out the fluff and crammed in situational application. Our training is so effective that our clients can start with zero understanding of how to sail and after just one day, leave with the necessary foundations to one day charter their own boat and set off on their own adventures.

We offer no "dry land instruction." All training takes place on board and students take hands-on ownership of the ship the second they step aboard.

While typical courses have a 1:6 instructor to student ratio, we guarantee no less than one instructor and one assistant instructors for no more than four students! This enables us to monitor students closely as they respond and adapt to unscripted training scenarious.

If you have always dreamed about mastering wind and wave and setting off to the far side of the world, come join us in the sailing capital of America and learn to sail on the open waters of the Chesapeake Bay.
